Announcements Dance Concert this weekend! CFPA Dance presents its Spring Concert, "115 + 116 + 117 + 118 + 119 = 11" on May 3rd and 4th in the Auditorium at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for children under 10, senior citizens, and students with valid WSHS ID. Come on out to see our amazing CFPA dancers! Woodbridge Senior High School presents Oklahoma! Thursday April 11th through Saturday April 13th at 7:30 p.m. The show costs $7 for students and $10 for the public. The show stars senior Jenna Grazzini and sophomore Patrick Kelly in the iconic roles of Laurey and Curly. The show also showcases juniors Jordan Frederick as Ado Annie, Austin Hurlbrink as Will Parker, and Tori Unterberger as Aunt Eller. Senior Harrison Simpson portrays the menacing Jud Fry.
Oklahoma! has over 50 participants within the cast, crew, and orchestra pit. Oklahoma! is one of Rogers and Hammerstein's best musicals and noted as one of Broadway's first big hits. Popular songs like Kansas City, Farmer and the Cowman, I Can't Say No, and the title hit Oklahoma, all derive from this fantastically fun show. Join us for a show stopping and rip roaring production! "Blanket" Opens This WeekendKOJI is coming to Woodbridge! MondayMarch 11 2:15 - 3:30 Room TBA Known for his active role in the “Invisible Children” campaign and fresh off the Acoustic Basement Tour, singer songwriter/peace activist “Koji” will be coming to Woodbridge Senior High School to talk to students about songwriting in a master class on Monday, March 11th at 2:15 PM. Koji, who hails from Pennsylvania but is currently touring full time, will present a short set, talk about his experiences, and then listen to some students and give feedback on their music. Originally a punk musician, Koji now tours solo with acoustic guitar. Koji’s music can be heard on all of the major social media outlets as well as his bandcamp website, http://kojisaysaloha.bandcamp.com. Students are looking forward to learning from this positive role model in music. This master class was paid for with a grant designed to help teach writing across the curriculum through the art of songwriting. The grant was written by Woodbridge Senior High School music technology teacher Mrs. Gunn and awarded by “SPARK,” the education foundation for Prince William County Public Schools. As elementary and middle schools do not see students that day, we are unable to move forward as scheduled.
Due to time and scheduling constraints, the concert will not be rescheduled. Congrats to the Mighty Viking Marching Band!CONGRATULATIONS to the Mighty Viking Marching Band for their clean sweep victory in the Battle Royale competition on October 6th at Battlefield High School. The band won first place in music, marching, general effect, color guard, percussion, and drum major. They competed in and won not only first place in their AAAA Division against bands twice their size, but they also won Grand Champion out scoring 15 other bands who competed that day. An excellent performance by the entire band!! Great job, band! Good luck on your Festival performance coming soon!
