Recent ActivityThe CFPA is a four-year program housed at Woodbridge Senior High School in Woodbridge, Virginia. Young artists from Prince William County can audition to begin an intensive study of Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental or Vocal Music, Music Technology, Theater, or Visual Art. Auditions are held in January and February of each year.

Announcements Dance Concert this weekend! CFPA Dance presents its Spring Concert, "115 + 116 + 117 + 118 + 119 = 11" on May 3rd and 4th in the Auditorium at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for children under 10, senior citizens, and students with valid WSHS ID. Come on out to see our amazing CFPA dancers! Original music and choreography will be featured. Oklahoma!
Woodbridge Senior High School presents Oklahoma! Thursday April 11th through Saturday April 13th at 7:30 p.m. The show costs $7 for students and $10 for the public. The show stars senior Jenna Grazzini and sophomore Patrick Kelly in the iconic roles of Laurey and Curly. The show also showcases juniors Jordan Frederick as Ado Annie, Austin Hurlbrink as Will Parker, and Tori Unterberger as Aunt Eller. Senior Harrison Simpson portrays the menacing Jud Fry.
Oklahoma! has over 50 participants within the cast, crew, and orchestra pit. Oklahoma! is one of Rogers and Hammerstein's best musicals and noted as one of Broadway's first big hits. Popular songs like Kansas City, Farmer and the Cowman, I Can't Say No, and the title hit Oklahoma, all derive from this fantastically fun show. Join us for a show stopping and rip roaring production! "Blanket" Opens This Weekend The Woodbridge Senior High School Drama Club presents "Blanket," a play written by students Zoe Sellers and Tori Lockamy. The play will be performed on Saturday, March 16, at 7:00 PM in the Black Box Theatre and is suitable for all ages.KOJI is coming to Woodbridge! MondayMarch 11 2:15 - 3:30 Room TBA Known for his active role in the “Invisible Children” campaign and fresh off the Acoustic Basement Tour, singer songwriter/peace activist “Koji” will be coming to Woodbridge Senior High School to talk to students about songwriting in a master class on Monday, March 11th at 2:15 PM. Koji, who hails from Pennsylvania but is currently touring full time, will present a short set, talk about his experiences, and then listen to some students and give feedback on their music. Originally a punk musician, Koji now tours solo with acoustic guitar. Koji’s music can be heard on all of the major social media outlets as well as his bandcamp website, http://kojisaysaloha.bandcamp.com. Students are looking forward to learning from this positive role model in music. This master class was paid for with a grant designed to help teach writing across the curriculum through the art of songwriting. The grant was written by Woodbridge Senior High School music technology teacher Mrs. Gunn and awarded by “SPARK,” the education foundation for Prince William County Public Schools. This past week, Woodbridge Senior High School's literary magazine, "Eddas," won the Highest Award for excellence in student literary magazines for the state of Virginia. This award certifies that the literary magazine of this school was compared with those of other schools nominated in the same state during the year 2012 and was judged to be of highest quality. This award is from the National Council of Teachers of English. Congratulations to Mrs. Hailey, staff, and contributors to Eddas 2012! Please be sure to check out the literary magazine; it contains amazing poetry, short story, artwork, and music notation from our talented and hard working students.Choir Pyramid Concert Cancelled due to Snow DayThe Pyramid concert, scheduled for Tuesday, 1/29/2013, is now CANCELED due to Tuesday now being a Teacher work day.
As elementary and middle schools do not see students that day, we are unable to move forward as scheduled.
Due to time and scheduling constraints, the concert will not be rescheduled. Senior Exit Projects are Underway!CFPA Senior Exit Projects are underway!As our talented CFPA Seniors prepare for graduation with an emphasis in their chosen field, they are busy preparing for their required Senior Exit Projects. Please note the following concerts that are fast approaching: CFPA Music Technology Senior Greg Rosenberg is producing a show on Friday, January 18th in the Studio Theatre at 7:00 - 9:00 pm. The show is free and will feature Jetlag, The Questioneers, Whitman, and The Fox in the Fable. CFPA Vocal Senior Corinna Champlin will present her YouTube videos and live performance at her concert on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Studio Theatre. Admission is free and open to the public. CFPA Vocal/Music Tech Senior Katelynn Wilson will present her exit project at 7:30 p.m. - immediately following Corinna's (above) - in the Studio Theatre. Admission is free and open to the public. CFPA Vocal Senior Jenna Grazzini will present her Tribute to Broadway concert on Saturday evening, January 26, 2013 in the Studio Theatre. The community is invited to attend the reading of the winners' poems on Saturday, January 5th from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Center for the Arts, the old Candy Factory, in Old Town Manassas. Student art contest submissions will also be on display. Come see The Election this weekend! Woodbridge Sr. High School's Center for Fine and Performing Arts Theatre Director Terri Caretti selected "The Election" by Don Zolidis for their fall production. This new, two act play is about an election for student body president after the current president resigns. The play is set to perform November 2nd, 3rd, 9th, and 10th at 7:30 pm, and November 11th at 2pm in the auditorium. The cost is $5 for students and $8 for adults.Congrats to the Mighty Viking Marching Band!Congratulations are in order to the Mighty Viking Marching Band for achieving a superior rating at the Marching Band Festival on November 3rd. They were one of the few bands to score straight superiors from every judge in every category. Great job, Band!

Congrats to the Mighty Viking Marching Band!CONGRATULATIONS to the Mighty Viking Marching Band for their clean sweep victory in the Battle Royale competition on October 6th at Battlefield High School. The band won first place in music, marching, general effect, color guard, percussion, and drum major. They competed in and won not only first place in their AAAA Division against bands twice their size, but they also won Grand Champion out scoring 15 other bands who competed that day. An excellent performance by the entire band!! Great job, band! Good luck on your Festival performance coming soon!

Governor's School Applications Due October 21Auditions for the Virginia Residential Governor's School for the Visual and Performing Arts will take place on Tuesday, October 30th, 2012 between 2:15 - 7 pm. Applicants will receive an audition time after they submit the preliminary application. Preliminary applications are due no later than 2:30 pm on October 21, 2012.
